Within a 20-minute’s drive from the Riga centre, there is the Latvian Ethnographic Open-Air Museum – one of the oldest open-air museums in Europe, which contains objects, tools and buildings characteristic of the daily life of the nation. Here you will have an opportunity to return to the past stretching back for several hundreds of years, as well as to learn about traditions of Latvian culture. Moreover, participants will have an opportunity not only to observe but also to participate and try out their skills in ancient handicrafts – coin-making, wickerwork, weaving. In an artisans’ fair organised specially for the participants of the NATO PA, it will be possible to buy articles made by craftsmen.
